Thirty people turned out for the AGM including supporters, players and ex-players. Most of the executive positions were filled unopposed by the 2008 members. Tom Wainright stood down as secretary and this was taken on by Richard Officer, while registrar was taken on by Scotsman Dave Watson. It was good to see for the first time in a few years three women nominated for the committee and they are very excited to help out. We especially thank Nat Hoy for taking on the sponsorship role which is one of the most important jobs in any sporting club.

Where to in 2009
After the meeting we discussed 2009 and especially the concept of having two even teams in first grade. This was well accepted although people were worried how the teams would be selected. It is yet to be finalised but this is a broad description. In the new year once everyone starts pre-season training, ALL players will be given the opportunity to nominate who they would like to play with (i.e mates). This will form the basis of some decisions and will make sure that people are happy and can play with their mates if we cant pick between two players. However, teams will be selected based on making sure that there are good match ups in key spots (as previously sent to you i.e front row Hoy v Joyce, half, 10, fullback etc etc). Once the team/squads are initially selected all the players will have a look at them but this may not be the final teams. Players and also involved non playing members of the club will be given the opportunity to comment on the two teams so that we can fine-tune them so that all positions are filled successfully. One thing we can assure that there will be no mass movement of players between teams once they are chosen and only in the worst case scenario such as mass injuries, may the club move players (if the player wants too that is). Our aim is to have 22 of the best rugby players in each team playing each week so there will be competition to make the run on 15 each week.
